bouncerThe Bouncer and the Butterfly by Bruce and Gaynor Richter details some of their incredible adventures over the last 35 years. Like the experience of parenting and raising their three gorgeous daughters. Or the experience of becoming Christ followers and pastors of three church campuses across South Africa. Their life journey has also involved the pleasure of meeting other people and experiencing their cultures by traveling to their nations. Just a few years ago they boarded the Queen Mary 2 in England, sailed across the Atlantic to New York and become citizens of the United States of America. However, their story didn’t start there – when they met in April of 1980, Bruce was a 21-year-old trying hard to become an alcoholic, while working part time as a bouncer in a dingy nightclub. Gaynor, a 19-year-old single mother working as a stripper, loved smoking marijuana and drinking tequila.   Their courting, if you can call it that, was brief – they got married on August 30, 1980. Following the predictions that they wouldn’t make it past the first six months of marriage, they began struggling to fit into their new roles as husband, wife, and the parents of Samantha. In Sepweapontember 2015, Keir Tayler published a book, A Weapon in His Hand. In boyhood, Keir Tayler found his identity in the rugged expanse of wilderness in Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). As a young man, he left school to join the Rhodesian army, later becoming one of the first belted and bereted Selous Scouts, the most-decorated outfit in the Rhodesian security forces. After a catastrophic event on the battlefield, Keir found his life dramatically altered, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

During his recovery, Keir decided to surrender completely to God – an act that is unusually difficult for a soldier. This surrender shapes the rest of his life and lights an inextinguishable fire to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to as much of the world as possible.  A Weapon in His Hand is the story of transformation: how a man can be used as a weapon of destruction, and then become a weapon of healing in the hands of God. Keir provides keen insight and illuminates how life, as a soldier or as a Christian man, is fundamentally the same. An absolutely inspirational testimony of surrender, trust, and miracles, A Weapon in His Hand is sure to inspire passion and purpose as we all wear the full armor of God.
